CAIRO – 19 March 2022: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi urged localizing the industry and technology regarding the construction and infrastructure sectors as he met with senior officials on Saturday.
This is given the direct impact of industry localization with the participation of the business community in various development sectors on implementation rates and support for the comprehensive development process in the country as well as the rationalization of imports, the Egyptian Presidency said in a statement.
During the meeting, Sisi was briefed on the progress regarding a number of construction projects in the New Administrative Capital, East of Cairo.

This especially includes the Military Academy at the Strategic Command headquarters, the interior design and artwork of the Misr Mosque (Mosque of Egypt).
The president was also updated on the executive status of the Egypt International City for Olympic Games, the Presidency said.
The President reviewed progress of the new roads and axes projects constructed nationwide, including Dar Al Salam Axis the extends over the River Nile River in Upper Egypt’s Sohag Governorate with a length of 28 km.
Sisi was also briefed on efforts to develop airports in South Sinai, especially the airports of Sharm El Sheikh, El Tor and St. Catherine, as well as Hurghada Airport.
This is beside the development of the entrances and roads in Sharm El Sheikh, which is scheduled to host the UN Climate Change Conference 2022 (COP27) in November.
President’s Advisor for Urban Planning Amir Sayed Ahmed, Head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Ihab El-Far, Director of the Armed Forces Survey Department Khaled Fawzy, and Assistant to the Head of the Engineering Authority for Research and Development Sherif Maziq attended the meeting.
Attendees also include Assistant to the Head of the Engineering Authority for the Air Force Tamer Mukhtar, Assistant to the Head of the Engineering Authority for Road Designs Abdel Aziz Al-Feki and Director of Ibdaa Marble Factory Tariq Al-Khudairi.
