CAIRO – 17 March 2022: Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shokry delivered Thursday a message from President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi to Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

In their meeting, the minister underscored the salience of pushing forward bilateral cooperation, and joint work, as stated by the spokesperson on Twitter.

Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and Singapore’s Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean discussed means of cooperation in the counterterrorism field.

The ministers held a meeting on Wednesday in Singapore, after Shokry's arrival from Malaysia as he is holding an Asian tour.

The meeting discussed regional and international issues of mutual concern, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement, adding that the ministers assessed the impacts of these issues.

Shoukry and Hean, also the chairman of Singapore’s Inter-Ministerial Committee on Climate Change, discussed means of boosting cooperation and coordination in the field of climate during the coming period.

This comes in light of Egypt’s presidency of the 2022 UN Climate Conference (COP27) in November in Sharm El-Sheikh city. The ministers also discussed issues of interest between the two countries, the statement read.
