Egyptian labors’ conditions in Qatar are stable: Min

CAIRO – 12 July 2017: Minister of Social Solidarity Ghada Waly affirmed that Egyptian labors’ conditions in Qatar are stable, and reviewed efforts exerted by the Egyptian consulate and labor advisor in Qatar in contacting the Egyptian community, who gave clues that all conditions are regular.

The statements came as part of the second meeting of the Ministerial Committee of following up working labors’ conditions in Qatar that was held on Wednesday.

The meeting was held under Ministers of Social Solidarity Ghada Waly and State Minister of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriate Affairs Nabila Makram in the presence of representatives of the Foreign Ministry, National Aviation Services, Ministry of Manpower and Immigration and concerned bodies.

Makram called for not heeding rumors on conditions of the Egyptian labor in Qatar.
For its part, the National Aviation Services reviewed the facilities it offered Egyptians expatriate in Qatar free of charge.

The Service worked in special short term cooperation with Arab aviation airlines to ease difficulties facing the Egyptian community in Qatar after June 5, 2017 when Cairo, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain severed diplomatic relations and cut all land sea and air contacts with it, accusing it of supporting terrorism.

The representative of the Manpower Ministry reviewed line ministries’ roles in identifying available job vacancies in all governorates across Egypt.

Earlier, Waly said that nearly 250-300 Egyptian expatriates are living in Qatar, including practitioners, workers and employees, adding that all of them are stable in their jobs.
