CAIRO – 13 March 2021: Egypt has expressed condolences to the Democratic Republic of the Congo over a train accident in the southeast of the African country that left dozens of victims on Saturday.
The derailment took the lives of 61 people and 52 injured in the village of Buyofew near Kolwezi region.
Egypt offered its sincere condolences to the government and people of DR Congo, as well as the families of the victims, according to a Saturday statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The statement wished the injured a speedy recovery, saying Egypt “stands behind DR Congo in this painful situation.”
