CAIRO – 9 March 2022: Egypt's ambassador to Hungary, Mohamed El-Shennawy, accompanied by members of the embassy, headed to Budapest airport to bid farewell to a new group of 14 Egyptians coming from Ukraine, and heading to Egypt on an EgyptAir flight.
The Egyptian Embassy in Hungary has provided 14 citizens with all the necessary facilities to ensure their safe return to homeland, starting with facilitating the procedures for their passage through the border crossings between Hungary and Ukraine in coordination with the Hungarian authorities, as well as providing transportation to Budapest.
The embassy also provided decent accommodation to the returnees, then facilitated the process of their traveling back to Egypt.
Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy affirmed to the citizens at Budapest Airport, the state's keenness to provide all forms of support to its citizens, both at home and abroad, and to provide all necessary measures to ensure their safe return to the homeland.
The flight came within the framework of the continued support provided by the Egyptian embassies in Ukraine's neighboring countries for nationals in light of the Ukrainian-Russian conflict.
The number of refugees fleeing Ukraine reached two million people since the beginning of the Russian military operations in Ukraine on February 24, the UN said on Tuesday.
