CAIRO - 9 March 2022: President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi’s visit to Saudi Arabia on Tuesday highlighted once again a strong alliance that considers the many common interests as well as conditions in the region.

They rejected all regional interferences in Arab countries, whether through inciting sectarianism or ethnic tensions, or supporting terrorist groups, or in an attempt to expand influence in a way that does not respect the sovereignty of other countries or good neighboring.

The two leaders also emphasized their continuing fight against terrorism and ongoing strategic and military cooperation, with Egypt supporting all Saudi actions to protect its national security. Sisi has said once and again that the security of the Gulf is a part of Egypt’s own security.

They underscored the importance of safe navigation in the Arabian Gulf, the Red Sea, and Bab al-Mandab Strait, condemning Houthi groups in Yemen that try to jeopardize the area. They said that Houthis’ possession of weapons of that ability cannot be ignored.

They also highlighted Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian aid dispatched to Yemen.

In Libya, they voiced their support for a purely Libyan solution without any external pressure, praising the role of the Libyan House of Representatives.
