CAIRO - 8 March 2022: As many as 71 Egyptians fleeing Ukraine arrived Tuesday in Cairo on board an Air Cairo flight, Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Hafez said.
In a tweet, Hafez noted the repatriation came after the Egyptian Embassy in Bratislava finalized their travel procedures.
The flight came within the framework of the continued support provided by the Egyptian embassies in Ukraine's neighboring countries for nationals in light of the Ukrainian-Russian conflict.
The number of refugees fleeing Ukraine reached two million people since the beginning of the Russian military operations in Ukraine on February 24, the UN said on Tuesday.
"Today the outflow of refugees from Ukraine reaches two million people," UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi said on his Twitter account.
