CAIRO – 4 March 2022: Egypt’s Foreign Ministry condemned on Friday the in the strongest terms the terrorist bombing that targeted a mosque in the Pakistani city of Peshawar, which killed dozens.

“The Egyptian government and people express their sincere condolences and sympathy to the friendly government and people of Pakistan, and wishes a speedy recovery for all the injured,” the ministry said in a statement.

The ministry also stressed Egypt’s solidarity and standing with Pakistan in the face of terrorism in all its forms.

A bombing of a Shia Mosque in Pakistan’s Peshawar during the Friday prayer has killed at least 56 and injured dozens.

Egypt’s Grand Mufti Shawki Allam condemned the bombing, saying “terrorist groups do not observe the sanctity of blood and the sanctity of the houses of Allah”.

The Grand Mufti extended his sincere condolences to the government and people of Pakistan for the victims of the terrorist incident.

He prayed to God to have mercy on the victims and heal the injured.

Sectarian violence in the recent years in Pakistan have claimed the lives of thousands of people.
