Egypt’s Grand Mufti condemns bombing of Pakistan mosque during Friday prayer

CAIRO – 4 March 2022: Egypt’s Grand Mufti Shawki Allam condemned the bombing of a Shia Mosque in Pakistan’s Peshawar during the Friday prayer, which killed at least 45 and injured dozens.

“Terrorist groups do not observe the sanctity of blood and the sanctity of the houses of Allah,” Allam said.

The Grand Mufti extended his sincere condolences to the government and people of Pakistan for the victims of the terrorist incident.

He prayed to God to have mercy on the victims and heal the injured.

Sectarian violence in the recent years in Pakistan have claimed the lives of thousands of people.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack until now.
