Education Minister to announce results of high school exams

CAIRO – 12 July 2017: Education Minister Tareq Shawky will hold a press conference on Wednesday to announce the results of Thanwiya Amma (high school) exams.

Shawqy approved on Tuesday the results of high school exams for the 2016/2017 school year and congratulated the students who got the highest grades.

Thanaweya Amma students must take highly competitive exams in a number of subjects at the end of their final year of school.

The student’s results determine what universities and faculties they may attend, if any.
The second step, qualifying Thanaweyya Amma students are scheduled to start applying to universities in the upcoming few days.

Since the beginning of the exam season in early June, most of exams have been leaked on social media.

The Thanaweyya Amma exam leaks put the Ministry of Education under increasing pressure.
