Arab parl't speaker commends Sisi's efforts to promote joint Arab action

CAIRO - 19 February 2022: Arab Parliament Speaker Adel al Assoumi hailed the great efforts exerted by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his honorable stands for promoting joint Arab action and defending Arab national security.

He referred also to Egypt’s support for the Arab Parliament which Cairo hosts.

Assoumi made the remarks on Saturday during the fourth conference of the Arab Parliament and heads of Arab parliaments.

He called on the international community, especially the United Nations agencies, to shoulder the political, legal, and ethical responsibilities to reach a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian problem.

Although the international community recognizes the rights of the Palestinian people in establishing an independent Palestinian state with Al Quds (East Jerusalem) as its capital, yet a permanent solution for the decades-running problem is still elusive because of Israel’s intransigence and the inaction of the world community, he said.

He noted that the Arab Parliament will organize - in partnership with the Arab Administrative Development Organization - an Arab forum for promoting economic integration among Arab countries in May.

This will be the first Arab parliamentary conference focusing on cyber-security, he went on to say.
