Maldivian President awards Dr. Al-Issa the Order of Honor of the Republic in appreciation of his efforts in serving Islam and peace 

 The opening of a regional officeof the MWL in the Maldives in response to the request of the MaldivianPresident 

 

·       The MWL’s office in Malé willprovide training courses on the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Declaration (The Charterof Makkah)... and a branch of the Museum of the Prophet’s Biography will beopened. 

 

·       Dr. Al-Issa meets defense andforeign leaders and is briefed on the tasks of the National Center forCombating Extremism 

 

 

·       Dr. Al-Issa delivers a lecture atthe Ministry of Islamic Affairs in the presence of the Vice President,ministers, academics and youth

At the invitation of thePresident of the Republic of Maldives, Mr. Ibrahim Saleh, the delegation of theMuslim World League (MWL) headed by His Excellency the Secretary General SheikhDr. Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa visited the Republic of Maldives, wherethey were received in the capital Malé by His Excellency the Minister of Statefor Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ahmad Khalil and a number of senior officials. 

 

After the official receptionceremony at the capital airport, His Excellency the Secretary General, Dr.Al-Issa, and the accompanying delegation moved to the presidential palace,where he was received by the President of the Republic of Maldives, Mr. IbrahimSaleh. After the meeting, the opening of a regional office of the MWL in theMaldives was announced, in response to the desire of His Excellency thePresident of the Republic to be a platform for serving the Maldives and thecountries of the region, it will include an exhibition of the Prophet'sBiography and training sessions on the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Declaration (The Charterof Makkah). 

 

In appreciation of hisefforts in serving Islam and world peace, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Al-Issa wasawarded by the President of the Republic of Maldives the Order of Honor of theRepublic.The coronation ceremonyopened with a presidential statement that said: "The honor comes inappreciation of the distinguished efforts made by His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Muhammadbin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, the Secretary General of the Muslim World League, inpromoting Islamic unity, harmony and peace around the world, and strengtheningthe partnership between the Maldives and the Muslim World League in thisregard. In accordance with the powers granted to me by the constitution of theRepublic of Maldives, I grant His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin AbdulkarimAl-Issa, the Secretary General of the Muslim World League, the highest honor inthe Republic."

 

 On behalf of the governmentand people of the Maldives, the Maldivian President congratulated HisExcellency Sheikh Dr. Al-Issa for receiving the Medal of Honor, whichrepresents an extension of the ancient legacy left by Sultan Ibrahim, who ruledthe Maldives from 1585 to 1609. His Excellency Dr. Al-Issa thanked theMaldivian President for this honor, which he considered a catalyst for morework to serve Islam and humanity as a whole. 

 

After that, His Excellencythe Secretary General Sheikh Dr. Al-Issa delivered a specialized lecture on"Means of Combating Extremism and Terrorism Intellectually andElectronically", which witnessed a high-level presence, topped by HisExcellency the President of the Republic, His Excellency the Vice President,the ministers, members of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security,officials of national defense and the police, and a number of senior officials,researchers and interested parties. 

 

His Excellency Dr. Al-Issaalso met the leaders of the Ministry of Defense in the Republic of Maldivesheaded by Her Excellency Minister Mariya Ahmad Didi, where the two sidesdiscussed mechanisms of joint action in combating extremism.

 

 Dr. Al-Issa was briefed onthe activities of the National Center for Combating Extremism, then held anextensive meeting with the leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, headedby His Excellency Minister Ahmad Khalil. This was followed by a joint pressconference that touched upon the most important aspects of the visit, which wasreported by the media and official government communication platforms. 

 

As part of the visitprogram, His Excellency Dr. Al-Issa met His Excellency the Minister of IslamicAffairs of the Republic of Maldives, Dr. Ahmad Zaher, during which a number ofissues of common interest were discussed. His Excellency also visited theIslamic Center in the capital, Malé, and was briefed on its activities and mostprominent works.

 

 Dr. Al-Issa delivered alecture at the headquarters of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, which included"important controls in legal fatwas and religious preaching",attended by His Excellency the Vice President of the Republic, ministers, imamsand muftis, and a group of academics and youth, and it was broadcast onofficial television and a number of television channels in the region, as wellas it was broadcast live on the official government communication platforms,and was followed by an open dialogue with young people on the most prominentissues at the Islamic and international levels.
