Sisi arrives in Beijing to attend Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games

CAIRO – 3 February 2022: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi arrived, Thursday to attend Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games, which  kicks off officially on February 4, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi said.

 

Chinese Ambassador in Cairo Liao Liqiang asserted that the participation of President Sisi in the inaugural ceremony of the Olympics reflects the inclusive strategic partnership between Egypt and China.

In statements on Thursday, the ambassador said that Chinese President Xi Jinping will hold a banquet in honor of foreign leaders who will attend the inaugural ceremony of the Olympics.

The Winter Olympics will take place on February 4-20.

The ambassador also appreciated Egypt’s support for his country to host the winter Olympic Games.

 

It is a sign of exchanged solidarity and support, Liao commented on lighting up the Cairo Tower to mark the winter Olympic Games in Beijing.

The light show is of great significance, especially for sports fans and supporters of peace worldwide, the diplomat noted.
