CAIRO – 29 January 2022: Cairo University has topped the list of Egyptian universities and research centers in the number of internationally published research, reaching 6,514 studies, according to the President of Cairo University Dr. Mohamed el-Khosht.
He added that the university has contributed with 16.8 percent of the total research published, doubling the number published by the university followed it in the ranking, according to the scientific publication issued by the Egyptian Observatory for Science, Technology and Innovation.
Mohamed El-Khosht, President of Cairo University, said in a statement that the university has achieved an unprecedented leap in the field of scientific research through joint research projects with international and local bodies or through the university’s self-financing in light of the unlimited support for the research sector, and linking it to the national projects of the Egyptian state and the needs of the Egyptian state. the society.
The President of Cairo University added that the university implemented the largest funding budget in the history of the university, whether by attracting external funding for research or from the university’s resources.
He added that the budget reached 395 million pounds, which is the largest at the level of universities, noting that the university succeeded in attracting funding for joint scientific research, which amounted to about 295 million pound.
The university also cooperates in 200 national projects, which confirms the university’s ability to keep pace with international scientific development.
