Cairo, Beirut discuss media cooperation

CAIRO - 11 July 2017: Head of the Supreme Media Regulatory Council Makram Mohamed Ahmed has hailed as "constructive and fruitful" cooperation between Egypt and Lebanon.

Ahmed's remarks were made on the sidelines of his meeting on Tuesday with visiting Lebanese Information Minister Melhem Riachi.

Egypt enjoys independent press and freedom of opinion, he added.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese minister lauded the role of the Supreme Media Regulatory Council in restoring professionalism and values to Egypt's press and media.
