Egypt condemns terrorist attack on Iraqi soldiers in Diyala province

CAIRO - 21 January 2022: Egypt condemned, in the strongest terms, the heinous terrorist attack that took place against a number of Iraqi security forces on Friday in the Iraqi Province of Diyala, said the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement on Friday.

 

“Egypt extends its sincere condolences and sympathy to Iraq, its government and people, and to the families of the innocent victims of this tragic accident,” the statement read.

 

Egypt also affirms its full solidarity with Iraq in the measures it takes to maintain its security and stability. 

 

Militants of the Islamic State terrorist group (ISIS) attacked an army barrack north of Baqouba in Diyala province, killing 11 soldiers, the Associated Press reported.
