Emigration Min. praises effective role of Egyptian students in Canada in supporting a decent life

CAIRO - 18 January 2022: Minister of State for Emigration Nabila Makram discussed on Monday with Canadian Ambassador in Cairo Louis Dumas ways of boosting cooperation and issues of common interest, the Emigration Ministry said in a statement.

Makram spoke about her visits to Canada and her meetings with Egyptian expats there, reviewing the ministry's role in linking Egypt's experts and scientists with their homeland by holding five editions of Egypt Can conferences.

The minister reviewed the national strategy for Egyptian students abroad to be a main component of all the ministry's activities and events for these students as well as the launch of the Dialogue Center for Egyptians Studying Abroad (MEDCE).

She pointed to students of the Philopateer Christian College in Canada and their effective role in supporting the Decent Life project, briefing the ambassador on the Life-Saving Boats initiative that aims at raising awareness on the dangers of illegal immigration.

Meanwhile, Doumas appreciated the ministry's role in benefiting from the common factors between Egypt and Canada, especially a big number of Egyptians became part and parcel of the Canadian society.

The ambassador expressed his admiration for development taking place across Egypt, valuing President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's efforts in this regard to make Egypt one of the great countries.

He welcomed cooperation with the ministry in the issues of safe migration and combating illegal immigration by coordinating to study the Canadian market's needs of Egyptian labor.

The two sides agreed on providing the ministry with information about Egyptian experts and scientists in Canada who are specialized in the industrial domain in light of preparations for the sixth edition of Egypt Can by Industry Conference.
