Sisi says WYF became important int’l dialogue platform, announces 2022 year of ‘Civil Society’

CAIRO – 13 January 2022: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al Sisi said, Thursday that World Youth Forum [WYF] has become an ‘important intentional dialogue platform’ for youth from all over the world.

In the closing ceremony of the fourth edition of WYF held in Sharm al Sheikh from 10 to 13 January, Sisi said that ‘the few past days in WYF were a real opportunity to exchange visions and opinions in order to achieve peace and create new and creative ideas.’

“I was very happy participating in the dialogue we witnessed during the past three days in Sharm el Sheikh,” Sisi said.

During the ceremony, president Sisi along with the first lady Entissar Amer witnessed a parachute parade, watched short-demonstration video on the Monument to the Revival of Humanity project and a short film titled 'True Colors'.

In his speech, Sisi announced eight decrees that he explained were created as a result of the WYF conversations and discussions. These decrees stated as following:

- Announcing 2022 as the Year of Civil Society

- Assigning the Cabinet to prepare a comprehensive vision in coordination with the ‘development partners’ to extend Egypt’s development initiatives within the region

- Directing WYF management to establish an incubator for entrepreneurs and small projects in coordination with the government and the private sector

- Directing with establishing an interactive platform for the WYF participants, to exchange visions and ideas permanently

- Assigning the Cabinet to prepare a strategy that expresses Egypt’s vision for the reconstruction of conflict areas regionally

- Directing with establishing an international campaign consists of multi-national youth whom participated in the WYF to explain ‘water resources’ to the world

- Assigning the National Training Administration to prepare programs focused on overcoming the consequences of Coronavirus pandemic, entrepreneurship and technology.

- Establishing an interactive platform for the WYF participants, to exchange visions and ideas permanently
