CAIRO – 9 January 2022: The Egyptian-Saudi Exercise "Tabouk 5" kicked off Sunday in Saudi Arabia with the participation of infantry, armored troops, Special Forces, paratroopers, and elements of other supporting specializations of both countries.
Commander of the Egyptian force taking part in the exercise delivered a speech extending the greetings of Minister of Defense and Military Production Mohamed Zaki, and Chief of Staff Osama Askar.
The commander underscored the importance of the exercise in unifying the combat concepts, and exchanging experience. He also asserted his certitude about the ability of participating elements to plan and manage joint missions in a highly professional and competent way.
On his side, Saudi Commander of the North Western Zone valued in his speech military cooperation with Egypt lauding the combat qualifications of troops joining the exercises.
The press statement issued by the Egyptian Armed Forces indicates that "Tabouk 5" is one of the largest exercises between both countries given the number of troops, and the diversity of the activities planned.
