CAIRO – 8 January 2022: Preparatory workshops of the World Youth Forum (WYF) kicked off Saturday, focusing on the effects of Covid-19 pandemic in the framework of the 2030 UN Sustainable Development Goals.
They also touch on the future of financial technology as it grows in emerging markets, digital transformation, Africa in light of the 2063 Agenda, and the perspective of Generation Z for the post-pandemic world.
The preparatory workshops also discuss rational water policies, environmental challenges, the growing global role of startups and entrepreneurship, post-pandemic education and recovery paths, and the role of youth against climate challenges.
A workshop will also be held to discuss the Egyptian experience in human development via its initiative Haya Karima.
A simulation model of the United Nations Human Rights Council will also be held, as well as WYF LABS, where young entrepreneurs, investors, and business incubators will meet to exchange experiences and expertise.
The preparatory workshops last Jan. 8-9, while the main workshops of the WYF in its fourth edition will be held Jan. 10-13.
The WYF is recognized as an international venue for dialogue by the UN and the Union for the Mediterranean. Around 15,000 young men and women participated in the third edition of the World Youth Forum from 160 countries. It has contributed to the UN Human Rights Council in its 41st edition.
