CAIRO - 11 July 2017: Minister of Higher Education Khaled Abdel Ghaffar left Cairo on Tuesday on a five-day visit to Germany, where he will meet with his German counterpart Johanna Wanka.

The visit comes at the invitation of Wanka and on the occasion of the anniversary of 10 years of cooperation between both countries in higher education.

The visit comes within the framework of strengthening Egyptian-German relations in the field of higher education.

The talks will take up ways to increase the number of German programs dedicated to Egyptians to receive their masters and doctorate degrees.

In addition, he will meet with members of the Arab-German youth academy, which aims to increase awareness of the scientific research in Arab countries.

Egyptologist and scholar of Oriental Studies Prof. Dr. Verena Lepper will attend the meeting between the minister and academy members, which seeks to increase cooperation in various fields and activities.

At the end of his visit, he will meet with the members of the Egyptian cultural office in Berlin to follow up on the work and activities carried out by the office, especially in spreading the Egyptian culture and civilization
