CAIRO – 21 December 2021: Acting Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar held a meeting Monday evening to follow up on the progress of underway preparations to launch 24 out of planned 52 family development centers across 20 governorates.
Those centers are targeted at women and children offering services such as medical check-ups, including pre-marriage ones and those pertinent to breast cancer. They also provide the disabled with medical services.
Those centers are not just healthcare units, but also, have nurseries, vocational training centers, and handicraft workshops for women.
In a related context, 1,500 doctors have been trained on family planning services as there is a target to run 1,000 medical caravans specialized in birth control per annum.
