Egypt sends food aid to South Sudan to help its people face worst flooding in decades- press photo
CAIRO- 10 December 2021: Egypt dispatched a medical convoy to South Sudan that has been hit by torrential rains, announced the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population on Friday in a statement.
The convoy was sent on Wednesday upon President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives to provide continuous support to the health systems in African countries.
The medical staff of the convoy will continue their work in supporting the South Sudanese people for ten days since their arrival on December 8, 2021. The medical staff includes pediatricians, Internists, pulmonologists and infectious disease specialists.
Another similar medical convoy is scheduled to be sent to Jonglei state, South Sudan in January.
Four days ago, a military jet took off from East Cairo Air Base heading to Juba Airport in South Sudan loaded with tons of medical and pharmaceutical aid.
The aid was submitted by the Ministry of Health and Population to the Republic of South Sudan to contribute to alleviating the burdens on the brothers in South Sudan.
