CAIRO – 5 December 2021: Egyptian doctors who reside abroad will be able to participate in the medical aspects of Haya Karima initiative during their visits to the country.
The Ministry of Immigration and the Ministry of Health launched an initiative on Sunday allowing Egyptian doctors abroad to help develop the Egyptian countryside as part of Haya Karima.
Minister of Higher Education and Acting Minister of Health Khaled Abdel Ghaffar said the New Year vacation would be the starting point for the initiative because it is a common time for Egyptians abroad to visit their home country, treat Egyptian patients, and exchange experiences with their counterparts based in Egypt.
The government will make available a volunteer form for interested doctors to fill as a way to benefit from their expertise. The registration form will ask for the doctors’ data, specialization, degree, residence, and an estimate of a visit to Egypt, and approval of volunteering at medical convoys that involve surgeries or examinations.
The initiative is coordinated by the two ministries as well as NGOs Sonaa al-Khair and Together for Healing.
