CAIRO – 22 November 2021: A state of shock and sadness blanketed social media in Egypt after two warrior women, Asmaa Mostafa and Salma el-Zarqa, died Monday after a long battle with Cancer.
Egyptian TV Presenter Asmaa Mostafa’s was announced dead Monday after a bitter struggle with tumor, which she was diagnosed with a while ago. Her colleagues and friends mourned her on social media, saying she resisted vigorously and was filled with hope, but her health condition deteriorated significantly during the past days.
She was moved to the hospital in attempt to control her situation, and her husband later announced her death.
Mostafa was a TV presenter to a number of morning shows, like: Sabah el-Ward and Sabah el-Tahrir.
Graduated in the Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration, Mostafa completed a master's thesis in Financial Management, and started training in major press institutions.
She started working at Nahar TV Channel, and then joined Extra News in 2017. She presented a daily radio program on Nagham FM last year, and announced in April her diagnose with Cancer.
She undergone a surgery to remove a new tumor last September. Her health condition deteriorated on October 19.
Salma el-Zarqa was diagnosed with cancer six years ago, where it started in her bones, and she had her left arm amputated. Her health condition was stable for a while, but the malicious disease attacked her fiercely again a few months ago.
El-Zarqa was famous for being one of the cancer fighters. She was settled inside a hospital. On November 11, she wrote her last post on Instagram, where she said that she “literally lost all her muscles and did not eat for the past 44 days.”
She also said that she moves using wheelchair, and that she is fed by medical solutions, chemotherapy and antibiotics. She called on her followers to pray for her.
Followers and friends of both Mostafa and El-Zarqa shared pictures of both ladies as strong fighters of Cancer, mourning them in sorrow and grief.
