CAIRO – 18 November 2021: Duchess Camilla of Cornwall visited Thursday Ezbet Khairallah district eastern Cairo to check on projects funded by the United Kingdom to empower women and combat climate change.
Those projects include making artifacts, and cultivating rooftops. The Duchess listened to the experiences of breadwinner women on how they support their immediate communities and the big one like when they produced medical PPE suits after COVID-19 outbreak.
Duchess Camilla also attended a play held on one of the cultivated rooftops, whose number is five.
It is noted that the British Council is active in the area by offering training to women on handicrafts, and experiential learning to children.
Prince Charles of Wales and Duchess Camilla of Cornwall are holding a two-day visit to Egypt. After they had arrived earlier on Thursday, they met with Grand Imam Ahmed Al Tayeb at Al Azhar Mosque. Later, they have been received by President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi and First Lady Intissar al-Sisi at Al Itihadiyah Presidential Palace.
