CAIRO – 8 November 2021: Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held a phone call on Monday with US Senator Lindsey Graham ahead of Egypt-US strategic dialogue.

During the phone call, they both discussed bilateral relations, a statement by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry read.

Shoukry held a press conference with US counterpart Antony Blinken on Monday, saying that Washington is a cornerstone for stability in the Middle East.

He added that it is in the interest of both Egypt and the US that their relations are developed.

Waves of turmoil have hit the region in the past decade, but Egypt has overcome them, becoming a solid foundation for stability, Shoukry said.

Egypt and the US are allies that share views on several issues, and that they constantly coordinate to counter challenges such as terrorism and extremism, Shoukry added.

Shoukry said an example of coordination was during the time of the latest Israeli operation on Gaza.
