CAIRO – 5 November 2021: Egypt’s Tourism Minister Khaled El-Enani said on Thursday that the date of the Al-Kebbash Road reopening will be set within days.

In remarks to Al-Qahera wal Nas, El-Enani said the world is awaiting a distinguished event in Egypt through the reopening ceremony of Al-Kebbash Road.

He added that the ceremony’s main goal is promoting Luxor, Aswan, and the areas that have suffered from the coronavirus pandemic implications.

Late in October, President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi ordered that the El-Kebbash Road reopening ceremony be a continuation of Egypt’s international event to promote the country’s soft power and ancient civilization.

Sisi urged that the opening of the road also reflects Luxor’s richness as an international and comprehensive tourist attraction, Presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said.

Al-Kebbash Road is the road that connects the Luxor Temple with the Karnak Temples. A wide street started from the beach, with statues of sphinxes, which we find in the temples of Karnak, represented in the form of a sphinx with the head of a ram.
