Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi holds a meeting with Khaled El-Anany, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities – Presidency
CAIRO – 30 October 2021: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi ordered that the El-Kebash Road reopening ceremony be a continuation of Egypt’s international event to promote the country’s soft power and ancient civilization.
Sisi urged that the opening of the road also reflects Luxor’s richness as an international and comprehensive tourist attraction, Presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said.
Sisi met on Saturday with Khaled El-Anany, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities. The meeting followed up on the activities and projects of the ministry.
Anany discussed the tourism movement during the current period, and the measures taken by the government to promote Egyptian tourist destinations in order to exploit the unique and diverse elements that Egypt possesses, especially with the start of the winter tourism season.
He also reviewed continuous coordination between various ministries and relevant authorities to ensure the recovery of the tourism sector from the coronavirus implications in a rapid way.
On Wednesday morning, EgyptAir flight No. "MS 202" took off from Sharm El-Sheikh International Airport, heading to Luxor International Airport, for the first time after a pause of six years.
EgyptAir will continue to operate once a week, subject to increase according to demand, at a unified round-trip ticket price, including taxes, of LE 1800.
This comes as Egypt aims to secure a comprehensive tourism experiment through integrating the cultural and leisure tourism so that tourists can visit more than one tourist destination while in Egypt.
