CAIRO – 20 October 2021: Russian Ambassador to Cairo Georgy Borisenko said that his country is interested in developing its partnership with Egypt, as well as cooperating to solve the crisis in Libya, Palestine, and fight all forms of terrorism.
He added in televised statements, Wednesday, that Egypt and Russia had strong relations since 1950; however, the cooperation between the two countries increased during the past period.
Borisenko noted that Egypt is one of the main and important countries awaited in the International Russian Economic Forum.
He explained that many Russian companies want to operate factories in Egypt. “Currently, we are working with Egypt to establish the economic zone in the Suez Canal and aiming to attract the Russian private sector to the Egyptian market.” Borisenko said.
The Russia ambassador said that his country supports Egypt's stance in preserving its rights in the Nile waters, especially in light of the population increase rate.
“We have communicated with our partners in Ethiopia to clarify our vision, and to highlight Egypt and Sudan’s concerns.” Borisenko added.
