Egyptian president arrives in Athens to participate in 9th Tripartite Summit with Greece, Cyprus

CAIRO – 19 October 2021: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi arrived in Athens Tuesday to participate in the ninth Tripartite Summit held with the chiefs of state of Greece and Cyprus.

"Athens Summit aims for building upon what was achieved in the past eight summits, as well as assessing the development of all fields of cooperation and following up on the projects being implemented within the tripartite cooperation mechanism (launched in 2014)…That is in addition to reinforcing and deepening political consultation over ways of facing joint challenges in the Middle East and the Mediterranean," Spokesperson of the Egyptian Presidency Bassam Rady stated on Facebook.

The president is also holding bilateral relations with each of his Cypriot counterpart Nicos Anastasiades, and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
