Cairo Metro announce vaccinating all of the 1st,2nd lines workers against Covid-19

CAIRO – 18 October 2021: Egyptian Company for Metro Management and Operation announced vaccinating all of the first- and second-lines workers against Covid-19.

It was added in a Monday statement that the number of employees who have been vaccinated reaches 221 people, and that the rest of the company employees’ vaccination is ongoing.

Non-vaccinated civil employees will not be allowed to enter their workplaces after Nov. 15. According to the higher committee for the management of the coronavirus crisis.

During a meeting Sunday chaired by Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli and attended by several ministers and officials, it was explained that non-vaccinated civil employees will have to undergo PCR tests every week or they will be prohibited from entering their workplaces.

The committee decided that no citizens will be allowed to enter any state-run buildings unless they are vaccinated starting from Dec. 1.

The decision also included that mosques' bathrooms will be reopened for prayers with the adoption of preventive measures.

The premier reaffirmed the need to offer vaccines for all citizens nationwide.

The Cabinet spokesperson Nader Saad also added in statements that all governmental services will be linked to the provision of the vaccine certificate.

He added in a television statement, that starting from December, students will not be allowed to enter any university unless they receive at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Presidential Adviser for Health Affairs Awad Tag Eddin said that 18 million citizens have been vaccinated against Covid-19 so far.

Speaking to On E TV channel, he reiterated on Saturday that the manufacturing of some 60 million doses of anti-coronavirus vaccines is set to be completed by late October.

He pointed out that 40 million citizens will be vaccinated against Covid-19 by the end of this year. The third dose of the vaccine will start with medical cadres, the elderly and people with chronic diseases under the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi

The presidential adviser praised the high turnout of citizens to receive the jab at a total of 1,200 vaccination centers. He added that the vaccination of students will start with university students, then the vaccination of other students under 18 will be considered.

Cairo International Airport received on Oct. 17 totally 1,611,090 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine provided by the US government.

The shipment was provided through COVID-19 Vaccines Global Access (COVAX) in cooperation with the Vaccine Alliance (Gavi) as part of the Egyptian state’s efforts to diversify and expand the use of vaccines.
