CAIRO – 9 October 2021: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi orders the government to provide all facilities to the exhibitors of the 2021 Turathna (Our Heritage) Exhibition for handicrafts, Presidential Spokesperson.

President Sisi inaugurated the exhibition and inspected UAE, Jordanian and Sudanese pavilions in the 2021 Turathna Exhibition for handicrafts at the Egypt International Exhibitions Center, in the Fifth Settlement District, new Cairo.

The President talked with exhibitors with disabilities who are participating in the exhibition.

He also spoke with a man ( formerly a street vendor) whose story went viral on social media after being filmed while he was on a train promoting Egyptian hand-made products in January 2020. The Ministry of social solidarity allocated a place in the exhibition for that man to sell his own products.

The exhibition, which lasts until October 15, aims to revive the traditional crafts and assist the small handicraft manufacturers by opening outlets to market their products.

The exhibition is being held under the patronage of President Sisi. It was organized by the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency.

A total of 1,500 exhibitors of artists and craftsmen will display their hand-made luxurious products on an area of 20,000 square meters. In addition to this, a number of NGOs are interested in participating in the exhibition.
