CAIRO – 1 September 2021: The Light Rail Transit (LRT) project that will connect Assalam City, the Administrative Capital, and 10 Ramadan City is a major electric train project that will link new urban communities to mainland.

Below are some of the most important updates about the project.

1 – The civil engineering work for phase 1 and 2 has reached 91 percent.

2 – The project includes four bridges for vehicles: Huckstep, Future 1, Future 2, Shorouk

3 – It includes seven bridges for the train: Ismailia, Geneva, Rubiki 1, Rubiki 2, Suez, Capital 1, Capital 2

4 – It includes three tunnels that have been finalized. One is for vehicles in Capital Garden and two are for the train in New Heliopolis and Badr city.

5 – 57 percent of electromechanics in the project has been finished.

6 – Towers that will feed the train with power are being installed.

7 – Construction of stations is about to be finished.

8 – Two trains from China will arrive in Egypt in a matter of days.

9 - Mobile units have been finalized by 71.5 percent.

10 – A tractor is used for rail tests.

11 – Work in the four stations of the third phase of the projects is underway.

12 – The train trajectory will extend to the heart of 10 Ramadan city in the fourth phase of the project.

13 – The LRT extends 103.3 kilometers consisting of 19 stations.

14 – Adly Mansour station is a central exchange station that will include an integrated transport complex of five different means of transport and a commercial area over 15 feddans.

15 – The project is a development artery for the new urban communities in Obour, Future, Shorouk, New Heliopolis, Badr, the Industrial Zone and 10 Ramadan, and the New Administrative Capital.

16 – The LRT will serve passengers who use the third metro line at Adly Mansour station, as well as the express electric train Ain Sokhna-Alamein, and the monorail of the Administrative Capital.
