CAIRO – 30 August 2021: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on Monday urged the establishment of a modern and comprehensive complex of workshops in the Al-Amal City in eastern Cairo.

The complex will include specialized workshops where all required services are provided within the framework of the comprehensive development efforts of the area, the Presidency said in a statement.

Sisi’s remarks came in a meeting with Amir Ahmed, the president’s advisor for urban planning; Magdy Anwar, CEO of the Watanya Company for Roads; Ehab El-Faar, head of the Armed Forces’ Engineering Authority and other officials.

The meeting followed up on the executive position of the network of new axes and roads nationwide, as well as the land reclamation project in North and Central Sinai.

The president was briefed on the developments of the reclamation and cultivation of 270,000 feddans in central and northern Sinai and the executive steps to provide and transfer water to the lands.

Sisi urged continuing coordination and integration between the various state agencies, including the academic and scientific sectors, to enhance the executive steps of this strategic project, which comes within the framework of the national project for the development of Central and North Sinai.

This comes given the project’s important impact on the state’s efforts in the comprehensive development of the entire Sinai Peninsula, the Presidency said.
