New Republic Youth Federation launches campaign for plasma donation across Egypt

CAIRO – 19 August 2021: The New Republic Youth Federation launched a campaign to encourage citizens to donate their blood plasmas across a number of governorates.

Tens of members of the federation headed to six plasma donation centers across Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, Gharbia and Minya governorates, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health.

The Ministry of Health announced it has received 1,320 plasma so far since the a national plasma donation project was launched last month.

Egypt has launched the national plasma donation project as part of a presidential initiative for the production and self-sufficiency of plasma derivatives.

The project will help achieve self-sufficiency of plasma derivatives, thus providing medicines for many chronic diseases, liver and kidney illnesses, and burns.

“We are receiving donors in our various branches in order to make plasma derivatives and provide them to citizens and achieve self-sufficiency,” said Dr. Marwa Mohsen, Director of Quality Department at the National Plasma Donation Project at the Ministry of Health in TV statements.

Sanaa Khalil, a member of the New Republic’s youth, said that she is happy to participate in the national project for self-sufficiency in plasma derivatives, stressing that the New Republic’s Youth Federation, launched by President Sisi at the first conference for a decent life, aims to raise awareness of the importance of the role of youth.

Ahmed Sayed, a member of the New Republic Youth Union, stressed that one of the most important goals of today's event is to introduce the New Republic Youth Federation, encourage donations, support the blood plasma project, invite young people to participate in the federation, and raise young people’s awareness to the importance of their role in the state and in building community.

The New Republic’s Youth Union, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, launched a campaign to donate plasma in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, under the slogan the “Treatment Inside You.”
