CAIRO – 12 August 2021: Tunisia’s ambassador to Cairo Mohamed Ben Youssef voiced appreciation of Egypt and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s support for the Tunisian state and its stability after the July 25 decisions.
In remarks to Egypt Today, he also hailed Sisi’s message conveyed by Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry to Tunisian President Kaid Saied, which affirmed the Egyptian leadership and people's support for presidential decisions and Tunisia's stability and security.
Ben Youssef also voiced appreciation of the assistance provided by Egypt under the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to help the Tunisian state in the face of the coronavirus pandemic and its implications.
Ben Youssef said Egypt is witnessing an unprecedented urban progress. The Tunisian ambassador described Egypt’s New Administrative Capital project as a "miracle" that is being realized on the land of Egypt.
On Egypt's regional role, the Tunisian ambassador said that Egypt has recovered and regained its leading role since President Sisi assumed power.
He highlighted the major role Egypt plays in regional pivotal issues, including its efforts in the Gaza Strip and the ceasefire between Gazans and Israel.

Sisi's message
Earlier this month, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry visited Tunisian President Saied in Carthage Palace to deliver a message from President Sisi.
The Tunisian presidency said in a statement that the meeting was an opportunity to thank Egypt again for its solidarity and noble stance with Tunisia in the face of Covid-19.
Saied emphasized solidifying coordination and cooperation with Egypt, reiterating that Egypt’s stability and security are part of Tunisia’s.
For his part, Shoukry conveyed Sisi’s “absolute support” for the historical measures taken by Saied to fulfill the will of the Tunisian people and ensure the stability of the country.
The minister said Egypt trusts that Saeid’s wisdom will take the country through this constitutional path in stable steps.
Egypt has sent Tunisia a number of medical aid shipments to help alleviate the rocketing pressure owed to the pandemic.
