CAIRO – 30 July 2021: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi responded to a call from a Palestinian father from Gaza Strip who asked for a treatment for his daughter, who suffers from a serious skin disorder.
In statements to Youm7 newspaper, the girl’s father thanked president Sisi heartily for allowing his daughter to receive the proper treatment without any coast.
The girl expected to enter Egypt on Sunday through Rafah crossing borders.
Earlier, the girl’s family posted its call on social media explaining how serious their daughter would need an urgent treatment and that she needs to be transferred to Cairo; however, they don’t own enough money for her treatment.
Egyptian authorities kept the Rafah border crossing “exceptionally” open for several days during the past months to receive wounded and stranded Palestinians and allow humanitarian relief assistance into the Gaza Strip.
The border also allows bringing aid, equipment and reconstruction materials into the strip, based on the directives of the Egyptian political leadership.
According to official sources, Rafah, the only crossing point between Egypt and Palestine's Gaza Strip, will remain open on both sides to allow entry of relief materials into the Gaza Strip for the reconstruction of the impoverished Palestinian enclave after the widespread destruction it witnessed due to last period’s Israeli onslaught.
