10M Egyptians registered to receive Covid-19 vaccine

CAIRO – 28 July 2021: More than 10 million people have been registered to receive the Covid-19 vaccine, according to a Wednesday statement by the Health Ministry.

The statement by the ministry said all those who have registered will be vaccinated “soon,” calling on Egyptians to register. Egypt’s population amounts to 100 million.

Those vaccinated receive a certificate to facilitate their travels and work, the statement said, adding that the vaccination reduces the chances of catching the virus and alleviates symptoms if contracted.

On Wednesday, 284,090 Covid-19 cases have been officially detected, where 228,624 have since tested negative and 16,498 have passed away.
