CAIRO - 8 July 2017: Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in Cairo Saturday evening on a two-day visit to Egypt, for talks with President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi on Sunday.
Electricity Minister Mohamed Shaker welcomed Abbas upon arrival.
Abbas will post Sisi on the developments of the conditions in the Palestinian territories, particularly the dangerous Israeli settlement escalation in Al-Quds and other parts of the Palestinian lands, said Palestine's Ambassador in Cairo Jamal Al-Shobaki.
The talks will also tackle Arab diplomatic efforts to maintain the Palestinian crisis as a top issue along with the current US moves to achieve peace based on the two- state solution, said the diplomat.
The ambassador hailed the Egyptian role and support for the establishment of a Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its captial.
The Palestinian president is accompanied by a delegation including his adviser for diplomatic affairs Magdy al Khaledi, Presidential Spokesman Nabil Abu Rdeinah and Head of the Palestinian Intelligence Maged Farag.
