MARSA MATROUH - Egypt - 8 July 2017: As many as 115 Egyptians returned home from Libya via Salloum border crossing in the past 24 hours, Matrouh Security Chief General Mokhtar el Senbary has announced.

Out of the returnees, 94 Egyptians left the country legally and 21 illegally, he said in statements on Saturday.

Travel procedures of 465 people including 61 Egyptians and 404 Libyans have been finalized.

Meanwhile, 72 empty trucks arrived at the crossing to be loaded with Egyptian commodities, he noted.

Libya has been witnessing a rising insurgency by different rebel groups and militias and an increasing use of weapons since the overthrow of slain Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi in 2011.
