CAIRO – 23 July 2021: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said the July 23 Revolution changed the reality of life in Egypt, achieved radical changes in all fields, and put our nation on the world’s political map.
His remarks came as he delivered a speech to mark the 69th anniversary of the 23rd of July Revolution, thanking the revolution's leader, late President Gamal Abdel Nasser.
The president hailed late President Mohamed Naguib as a symbol of the revolution who bravely answered the call of national duty in a defining moment.
Time passes and the nature of challenges changes, from 23 July Revolution to wars for the sake of the issues of our brothers, to restoring lands and achieving victory and to the current challenges, including terrorism that the police and army could besiege and weaken, Sisi said.
The Egyptian people have been always up to the level of those great responsibilities and have sticked to the values of belonging and sacred loyalty to the homeland, he affirmed.
I am fully confident of the Egyptian abilities to achieve miracles to secure a present and future as great as our past and we are able to preserve the resources of the nation and the gains of its great people, the president said.
Sisi said the current challenge is to change all aspects of the reality of life in Egypt through serious work to achieve comprehensive development based on careful planning and within the framework of a complete national vision and strategy.
The goal of this strategy should be building a strong, advanced nation in all fields, Sisi said, noting that this vision began with the implementation of a national program for comprehensive economic and social reform.
The vision took into account the low-income and the most needy groups, provided the appropriate opportunity and climate to encourage local and foreign investments, and reinforced the values and methods of modern science in all aspects of our lives, the president added.
Sisi also on Twitter hailed the revolution as a “glorious” event that wrote, with its great principles, a bright page in the history of the Egyptian struggle.
Sisi said the 23rd of July Revolution highlighted the firm and eternal relationship between people and the armed forces that carried the banner of the revolution to achieve independence in the greatest form of challenge and will to uphold the values of justice, pride and dignity.
“Long live Egypt, free and proud and an oasis of good, development and peace, always and forever,” Sisi added.
