CAIRO – 15 July 2021: Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sudan Maryam Al-Sadiq Al-Mahdi accused Ethiopia of threatening peace and security by violating international law and good-neighborliness.
She expressed hope that the UN Security Council will bear its responsibility towards the Renaissance Dam crisis to reach a binding agreement.
In statements to Sputnik, the Sudanese Foreign Minister revealed that Khartoum is considering going to the United Nations Human Rights Council to discuss the crisis of mobilizing the Renaissance Dam.
And about her expectations regarding the Security Council session last week, Al-Mahdi said, “We expect the Security Council to urge the parties to resume the Renaissance Dam negotiations.”
