CAIRO – 14 July 2021: The Ministry of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs has organized a visit for a delegation of Egyptian, Greek and Cypriot youth to the Ras El-Tin Naval Base in Alexandria, as part of the activities of the 4th edition of the presidential initiative "Reviving the Roots "NOSTOS."
The visit began with the screening of a documentary film entitled "Masters of the Seas", which reviews the efforts made by the General Command of the Armed Forces over the past years to develop the Naval Forces.
Those include upgrading the capabilities of the Egyptian Navy through the introduction of new and advanced naval units into service, as well as the joint exercises that are implemented by the Egyptian Navy with many brotherly and friendly countries, in order to raise the combat efficiency of Navy personnel in accordance with the highest standards.
For her part, Minister Nabila Makram has expressed her pride in launching the activities of the fourth edition of the presidential initiative "Revive the Roots..."NOSTOS" at the Naval Base in Alexandria. Makram added the ministry's keenness on the presence of such a visit as part of the events. She pointed out that the Egyptian Navay is achieving more success in light of the political leadership vision by developing it to remain classified among the most powerful navies in the world.
On the sidelines of the visit, the delegation toured the Mistral aircraft carrier “Gamal Abdel Nasser” and a number of newly joined units of the Navy. They expressed their happiness with the capabilities of the Navy to protect all the Egyptian coasts, as well as the enormous capabilities of the Egyptian Navy personnel and their abilities to command great units with such tremendous technology.
