Youm7 newspaper Headline: “Abiy Ahmed burns Ethiopia from inside and defies international laws”

CAIRO – 7 Juky2021: The second filling of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam [GERD], and the internal fighting between the Ethiopian National Defense Forces and Tigray Defense Forces topped Egyption Youm7 newspaper headlines, Tuesday.

In its printed Edition, Youm7 wrote: “Abiy Ahmed burns Ethiopia from the inside and defies international laws.”

 

The privately-owned newspaper made a special coverage for the second filling that was announced officially on Monday after noting Egypt and Sudan by the Ethiopian government. The coverage included interviewing several experts on Ethiopia’s economy, which is suffering because of constant wars and conflicts along with Addis Ababa selfish choices without paying attention to the interests of other countries.

Egypt’s Irrigation Minister Mohamed Abdel Ati received on Monday an official letter from his Ethiopian counterpart Seleshi Bekele confirming that Ethiopia started the second phase of filling the reservoir of its controversial mega dam.

Ethiopia has reiterated its plans to implement the second phase of filling in July and through the rainy season whether a deal is reached or not.
