CAIRO – 1 July 2021: Speaker of the Arab Parliament Adel Abdel Rahman al-Asoumy greeted Thursday President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi on the eighth anniversary of the June 30 Revolution.
The Speaker described the revolution as an embodiment of "the consolidation between the Egyptian people and its national great army to restore the Egyptian state, preserve the wealth of the Egyptian people, and cross to a stage characterized by security, stability, and national unity."
Asoumy noted that the June 30 Revolution reflected "the strength of the Egyptian state and the willpower of the Egyptian people" in the face of challenges. "It also kicked off a new era where comprehensive development [is carried out] in all fields," the Arab parliamentarian said.
The Speaker of the Arab Parliament commended the tremendous efforts deployed by President Sisi over the past eight years, particularly in terms of unprecedented urbanization, upgrade of the infrastructure, launch of national mega projects, and outstanding economic performance in spite of the acute economic crisis the world has been living through for two years.
With regard to foreign policy, Asoumy hailed the growing regional and international status of Egypt since President Sisi assumed office, and which has been reflected in the moves and policies of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Similarly, the parliamentarian lauded the big support Egypt gives to the Arab Parliament on all levels given it is the driving force behind Arab joint work. In return, Asoumy reiterated that the Arab Parliament backs Egypt in all its strategic issues and in regional and international communities.
