CAIRO – 1 July 2021: A building in the Dekheila district in Alexandria’s Al-Agamy city collapsed on Wednesday, causing an elderly lady to die and five to be wounded.
The civil protection units managed to recover the body of the 60-year-old woman and could also recover a child alive from under the rubble as the three-floor-building collapsed.
Search operations could also spot a child alive under the rubble and is using fine equipment to remove the rubble and save the child.
Heavy equipment could not be used as the building lied in a lane.
The injuries, including fracture cases, were moved to the hospital and search operations are ongoing to find four missing persons.
A team from the Dekheila prosecution, Alexandria’s security director and personnel from the security and executive bodies arrived at the scene to inspect the incident.
