CAIRO - 26 July 2020: A strong earthquake measuring 5.5 degrees on the Richter scale hit east of Turkey and was felt 1,096 kilometers northeast of El Arish city on Friday.
The quake was recorded at almost 8:28 p.m. (Cairo local time), the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG)'s National Seismic Network said.
In a statement, NRIAG Chairman Gad el-Qadi said that no reports of casualties or property damage have been received so far.
