CAIRO - 21 June 2021: Two people were killed and six others were injured in cargo train-bus collision near Helwan city, Southern Cairo,, announced the Ministry of Health in a statement on Monday evening.
 
However, other Arabic-language local media  reported that four people were killed and 24 others were injured. 
 
The Ministry spokesman added in the statement that 16 ambulances were sent to the site of the accident to transfer the injured people and the dead bodies to Helwan General Hospital and El Nassr hospital, noting that injuries were minor and varied between fractures, and bruises.
 
 Egyptian National Railways Authority affirmed that the freight train collided with two minibuses that stopped too close to the rail tracks in a residential area near Helwan.
 
The Monday train collision took place between Cairo's Tbin and Helwan in a place that had no level crossings, the authority said in a statement.
 
the driver of the Helwan train pulled the brake but could not stop the train before it touched a minibus and collided into another, it added.
 
Meanwhile, Attorney-General Hamada El Sawy ordered launching an investigation into the accident.
