Egypt’s Defense Minister Mohamed Zaki meets with a delegation from the House of Representatives’ defense and national security committee - Egyptian Military spox
CAIRO – 21 June 2021: Egypt’s Defense Minister Mohamed Zaki and a delegation from the House of Representatives’ defense and national security committee discussed on Monday threats facing the Egyptian national security, a statement by the military spokesman read.
Delivering a speech during the meeting, Zaki affirmed the Armed Forces’ readiness to carry out the missions assigned to them under various circumstances to protect the Egyptian national security in light of the challenges and threats on the regional and international levels.
Zaki affirmed the Armed Forces’ to continuously communicate with the Parliament’s defense committee in the various relevant challenges in a way that supports the national security pillars.
The meeting came within the framework of activating and strengthening the paths of cooperation between the committee and the Defense Ministry concerning the national security issues, the statement added.
The MPs hailed the efforts made by the Armed Forces to protect the pillars of national security, maintain the highest rates of preparedness and face the dangers and threats targeting the stability of the nation, the spokesman said.
They voiced appreciation of the Armed Forces’ participation in development progress that has been achieved on the ground in light of the political leadership’s intensified efforts on the domestic and foreign levels, the spokesman added.
